The conference, titled “Tides of Discovery, Bridges to the Future”, will emphasize themes of sustainability and interconnectedness, providing K-12 science teachers with professional learning and networking opportunities.

La conferencia, titulada “Mareas de descubrimiento, puentes hacia el futuro”, enfatizará temas de sustentabilidad e interconexión, brindando a los maestros de ciencias desde jardín de infantes hasta el nivel secundario oportunidades de aprendizaje profesional y networking.

Artist Statement
Tides of Discovery, Bridges to the Future, Alcohol marker, ‘’prismacolor’’colored pencils
,and paint markers 2025
This project is on the theme tides of discovery, bridges to the future. To represent the
tides I drew water under the bridge. Within the tides there is sea life such as starfish and
barnicals to represent discovery. I included the Yaquina Bay Bridge because it is my
favorite bridge and is local to where I live. The future is represented by the bridge
leading into the future. All together, I did my best to represent the theme for this year.

Este proyecto se centra en el tema de las mareas de descubrimiento, puentes hacia el futuro. Para representar las mareas, dibujé agua debajo del puente. Dentro de las mareas hay vida marina, como estrellas de mar y barnicals, para representar el descubrimiento. Incluí el puente de la bahía de Yaquina porque es mi puente favorito y está cerca de donde vivo. El futuro está representado por el puente que conduce hacia él. En resumen, me esforcé al máximo para representar el tema de este año.

This project is on the theme tides of discovery, bridges to the future. To represent the
tides I made a bay with waves. Within the tides there is a boat that represents
discovery. I included the Yaquina Bay Bridge because I really like how beautiful it is. It is
also very representative of Newport OR. The future is represented by a sunrise. All
together, I did my best to represent the theme for this year.

El futuro está representado por un amanecer. En resumen, me esforcé al máximo para representar el tema de este año.

added a view of the beautiful blue ocean. Within the tides there is local ocean life to represent
discovery. I included the Yaquina Bay Bridge because it represents connection and hope. The
future is represented by the lighthouse’s light that shines and leads a path to a brighter future. All
together, I did my best to represent the theme for this year.
